I Love Produce found our premium Organic Ginger on Asháninka rainforest farm land high in the mountains of Peru. The Asháninkas tribe farms this land. The Ashaninkas are the second largest indigenous group living in the rainforests of Peru with a culture that dates back to the time of the Incas.
The journey to the Asháninka farmland is a very difficult and arduous one. It takes our team over 25 hours of traveling to get to the location. On our journey Jim Provost (owner of I Love Produce) developed a connection with the Asháninka. He admired their unique culture and their ability to farm in a responsibly way. However, Jim noticed the Due to the remoteness of the Asháninka Schools they lacked many of the resources we take for granted. The children of the ginger farmers and facility workers worked hard at school, but it was obvious they needed more resources.
I Love Produce owners Jim Provost and Neil Millman decided they wanted to do something to help the Asháninka. I Love Produce pledged to give a percentage of the Peru Organic Ginger Root sales to the Asháninka School. In the first year of this relationship, I Love Produce donated over $13,000.00 to the Children of Antonio Raymond School .The money from this effort will support the school library, a computer room and other facilities that are much needed by the school and these young students. Past and future donations will help the Asháninka children to receive a better education leading to a stronger Ashaninka community for the future.
Jim Provost, President of I Love Produce, visited the Ashaninka community during their annual Ginger celebration.
